In 2004, The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap arrived on Game Boy Advance, offering a brand-new adventure developed by Capcom in collaboration with Nintendo. This title stands out for its innovative gameplay, captivating story, and above all, for the ability to shrink and explore a hidden world – that of the Minish.
Every 100 years, a portal opens between the kingdom of Hyrule and the secret world of the Minish. To celebrate this event, a grand festival accompanied by a tournament is organized. That year, a mysterious magician named Vaati wins the contest… but his intentions are far from noble.
During the ceremony, Vaati destroys the pedestal on which the legendary Minish sword rests, unleashing an evil force and turning Princess Zelda to stone. Only a brave hero can break this curse… and that hero is Link.
To accomplish his mission, Link must find the Minish, a tiny people visible only to pure hearts. Along the way, he meets Exelo, a quirky talking hat with a mysterious past… and a bad attitude! Thanks to him, Link gains the power to shrink, opening up an entirely new world filled with dangers and puzzles on a microscopic scale.
Although The Minish Cap is sometimes less mentioned than other installments, it remains a gem in the Game Boy Advance catalog. With its graphic style reminiscent of Wind Waker, its inspired bestiary, and unique gameplay mechanics, it offers an immersive and dynamic experience perfect for fans of the saga.
Unlike other Zelda games, where Ganondorf is often the main enemy, The Minish Cap highlights Vaati, an antagonist originating from Four Swords. He even becomes a recurring boss in the Four Swords saga, reinforcing his importance in the extended Zelda universe.
